International South African singer, presenter and actress, Colé van
dais (pronounced Colay van day) has much experience as
a covers and originals artist. She has done 1000’s of performances and has sold
many albums independently - on her shows in SA and abroad, as well as online
at
www.signme.co.za, www.rhythmrecords.co.za and www.cdbaby.com, and in South Africa
at Look & Listen stores.
Colé has performed at festivals, corporate events, theatres and venues all over
South Africa, Namibia, England, Scotland, The Ilse of skye, and the
Mediterranean islands. She has had the privileged of sharing the stage with
popular bands such as Village People, WWF wrestlers, Malaika, Mango Groove,
Steve Hofmeyer and many others.
Highlights include:
She has performed at international events such as The Ukkasie festival (London),
Earlscourt festival and Nottinghill carnival, Edinburgh festival, Pizza on the
Park (UK), and toured many islands including Cyprus, Spain and the Isle of Skye.
Colé is not only a successful singer but an popular TV presenter. In England, her
live TV show, ‘Mind, body, spirit’, broadcasted from London’s SKY TV, had over 1
million viewers and she was quickly moved to a Friday night prime spot. As an
actress Colé showed much versatility by staring in theatre and tv roles such as
Rizzo in the musical ‘Grease’ where she toured Scotland, and as the lead in
'Cinderella' where she captured the adoration of her audience as she brought the
fairy tale to life, and acting in ‘Prince Harry laid bare’ (ITV) as the real
Prince of Wales's girlfriend.
Colé decided to remain in London after winning a bursary to study drama at
Whitehall college, where she preferred her studies in ‘Rock, pop & soul singing’
at Citylit college in Holborn, as she could still attend auditions for work and
carry on with her singing at local venues. Her preferred musical genre is jazz
and soul and her original music reflects aspect of her influences such as Katie
Melua, Annie Lennox, Lesley Rae Dowling, Tori Amos and Kate Bush. With an added
dance beat to her new tracks, this gives a while new flavour to her music.

Armand van der Merwe is ‘n boorling van die Noordwes dorp Bela Bela. Rustenburg word egter sy hart se woonplek en hy matrikuleer aan die Hoër Tegniese Skool, Rustenburg. Armand dink met warme nostalgie terug aan sy kinderdae en familiebyeenkomste waar almal heerlik kon saamsing of die een of ander instrument bespeel. Dit was dan ook geen verrassing dat Armand sy ingebore musiektalent en liefde vir musiek saam met hom moes neem nie. In standerd 6 begin die man kitaar speel en sing. Eers is net die familie vermaak, maar dit was net begin. Niks sou hom stuit nie. Armand durf die musiekwêreld aan en kyk nie vir ‘n oomblik terug nie. Ons mooi taal en country-musiek lê Armand na aan die hart. Hy moes die twee liefdes kombineer, en vandag is Armand en sy wit, dansende perd ‘n pure sangsensasie.
Country musiek is

Inspired by
musicians such as Barbara Streisand, Celine Dion and Bonnie Tyler, and a
repertoire that includes songs such as ‘Have you ever seen the rain’; ‘It’s a
heartache’; ‘Bring Jou Hart’; ‘Ons Belofte’; and ‘Need you now’, Elmie has
been performing regualarity since January 2010.
She sings at Weddings, corporate functions and store openings, and has
performed for the OK Food group in Theunis...sen,
Welkom and Clocolaan, Die Uitspan Festival, The National Dod Show, as well as
regular performances at Traumeri and Pretty Garden.
Elmie came 4th in the 2010 Who’s Got Talent, Bloemfontein and in May 2011
launched her debut album ‘Son en Maan” at the Vryburg show – a covers album
that also includes two original tracks “Son en Maan” and “Jy Is” – a tribute
to her late father.
